Author's note: Post-Hogwarts. AU after HBP, but adheres to all canon facts from the first six books, and includes many elements from the seventh. This story takes place over a short period of time, but is slowly paced. Deep characterization, lots of backstory.
Summary:
Four years after Dumbledore's death, Draco Malfoy shows up on the doorstep of number twelve, Grimmauld Place looking for Harry Potter. Torn between his selfish cowardice and his family's pride, Draco finds himself alone on a battlefield and has nowhere else to turn; and Harry has to learn that sometimes you don't put up walls to keep other people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

Quickfacts:

  • This fic is rated R / Mature / Restricted. It is an adult fanfic, and not only due to sexual themes, but language, death/murder, torture, and overall insanity. This fic has a plot. This is not just boy-sex. However, their relationship is both pivotal to as well as consequential to the story as a whole.
  • That said, do not mistake this for purely a dark fic. There is love. There is humor. Merlin's Beard, there is sarcasm. The end point, after all, is two boys falling in love; but it must be acknowledged that any two people falling in love is not a facile or lucid process,  and above all does not happen instantly.
  • That said, the original HP story and these characters are not mine, they belong solely to JKR and all of her various publishers and producers of sorts. I am only borrowing them before she ends all of their lives in July with the final book of Doomly Hallows.

now thats ive read all five chapters im quite excited and eagerly anticipating the next installment! the characterizations are spot on!
and hungry as i am for h/d action i so do love the tease and demand on my patience :)

I wonder if you're planning to update your fic on FF.net, because when I started reading it on the community, I discovered that I had already read prologue and first chapter on FFnet. Also, you didn't updated it on Fictionalley, so I started to wonder where the right archive for looking for your fic can be.

Actually, it is updated on Fictionalley, as well as OWL and Hex Files. Problem is, all of these sites take time to validate brand new chapters as I upload them, and FA in particular takes bloody ages (usually the full 10 days), so I can't really do much except wait. Chapters are posted up here the moment they're done being beta'd.

As for FF.net, I've grown very, very sick of that horrible archive. The mods there have ignored my emails regarding my password issues, so, until I can access my account there to delete it, the prologue is stuck there :P

I'm sorry it's so confusing. This fic will always be updated here as soon as chapters are finished; FA, OWL, Hex Files (and soon, Skyehawke, since I was sponsored there) will be updated as the mods for each site get around to validating them.

so, i haven't read this yet, but i followed you from a rec by [info]calanthe_fics, read "catch-22" all today and i'm blubbering and drooling all over myself and am about to start this one.

I am so confused.

Your journal says that you have posted a new Bad Faith chapter in April of 2008, but the newest chapter here is from 2007.


I'm also a bit disappointed, because I really, really wanted to read more of this pure amazing-ness.
